Role Overview
The VSL Video Editor & Motion Graphics Specialist will be responsible for creating engaging, high-converting VSLs that drive measurable business outcomes across our DTC brands. You’ll work closely with our marketing team to develop scroll-stopping video creatives for ads, product pages, and landing pages.
Success in this role means consistently hitting key video performance benchmarks such as hook rate, hold rate, and ROAS — all while delivering high volumes of polished, on-brand content. If you’re a detail-oriented editor who knows how to pair motion graphics, subtitles, and B-rolls with persuasive storytelling, this is the perfect fit.

Must-Have Skills:
✅ 3+ years of video editing experience focused on VSLs, direct response, or e-commerce
✅ Strong command of Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools
✅ Proficient in sourcing and editing B-rolls into relevant parts of the video
✅ Experience in creating accurate, well-timed subtitles for both web and social platforms
✅ Motion graphics and animation expertise
✅ Proven understanding of video performance metrics and CRO principles
✅ Knowledge of social video platform specs and performance nuances (TikTok, Meta, YouTube)
✅ Ability to manage fast turnaround times without compromising quality
✅ Strong visual storytelling and pacing instincts
✅ Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Edit and produce high-converting Video Sales Letters (VSLs) – Hook viewers and drive conversions across various platforms.
- Design and animate motion graphics – Enhance storytelling, explain concepts, and increase watch time.
- Incorporate relevant B-roll footage – Use stock or existing B-roll to enhance clarity, emotion, and engagement.
- Add accurate and timely subtitles – Improve accessibility and boost performance across silent autoplay platforms.
- Optimize for performance – Tailor videos to platform-specific specs (TikTok, YouTube, IG, etc.) and iterate based on performance data.
- Maintain high output volume – Consistently deliver 10–15 VSLs per week with strong quality control.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – Work with marketing, analytics, and brand teams to align video with messaging and KPIs.
- Use stock footage and assets effectively – Combine raw content with high-quality visual elements to elevate production.
- Maintain a clean asset library – Organize files, templates, and video components for fast turnarounds.
- Experiment with AI tools – Use automation and AI features to streamline workflow and boost output.
- 2.0+ ROAS on edited VSLs
- Hook Rate: 25%+

- Average Video Play Time: 15 seconds+

- 10–15 high-quality VSLs delivered weekly
First 30 Days:
- Learn brand tone, product offerings, and video performance benchmarks
- Audit existing creatives and identify optimization opportunities
- Deliver 3–5 VSLs aligned with our style and KPIs
- Deliver full weekly output (10–15 VSLs) that meet or exceed performance targets
- Adapt and edit for various platforms while maintaining brand consistency
- Begin implementing motion graphics, subtitles, and B-rolls to improve hook and hold rates
- Deliver consistent ROAS across video campaigns
- Build a scalable workflow for high-volume editing
- Proactively identify new video formats and strategies to test
